802.EU is a next generation mobile Internet & application provider. We have developed a captive portal solution for wireless hotspot/hotzone operators, municipal wireless network providers & Wisp’s. The portal contains a number of modules that enables it to offer a range of web based services and applications. Think of VOIP (voice over Internet protocol), online backup, web based wordprocessing, spreadsheets, image manipulation, shared agendas etc. Additionally the portal application also contains modules for location based services such as location based advertising, geo-location services, tourism information and more. Last but not least we have included a location based social networking module which will let mobile users network with other users within the same network.

The captive portal solution makes it possible for operators to instantly create new revenue streams without a large capital investment. The modular approach of the portal solutions enables them to “cherry-pick” those modules that best suit their user demographic. The portal solution is implemented as a layer over their existing network while all applications and services are hosted in 802.EU’s Network Operations Centre

In addition to developing the portal we are also building our own network of WiFi hotspots. These hotspots of course use the captive portal solution and offer a wide range of services & applications.

We offer several levels of access:

1. Low-speed free access; this will allow users to send and receive emails as well as browse web pages. Users will have to register for an account but this level of access is free of charge (certain terms & conditions apply).
2. Ad-hoc access: This is targeted at the mobile user who only visits the hotspot location for a short while. Access will be available in different speed brackets and can be purchased in time allocated blocks (30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day etc.). Internet access can also be purchased buncled with our services.
3. Subscription access: This service is most suitable for those users that will use our different hotspots or networks on a regular basis. It will provide them with a mobile variety of “alway on” access. Access can be purchased by weekly or monthly brackets. Internet access can also be purchased buncled with our services.
